Before Crazy Baby Records,Incorporated, Kevin Price, was the CEO and founder of Iced Out Records Incorporated where he was first entered the music business as the artist known as "The Theory," with the original rap style complimented by his raspy, high pitched, voice that stands out immediately. As a talented basketball star at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh PA in 1996, Kevin Price began to emerge as a serious MC. After winning countless college rap battles, "The Theory" frequently stormed the Duquesne University radio station performing live on the air. He went on to storm all of the college radio stations in the surrounding area including, the University Pittsburgh, Carnegie Mellon University, & Robert Morris College. As Kevin’s college career winded down, he prepared himself to take an offer to play basketball in Spain. After cutting through all of the bull that several agents put before him, two years had passed and he still thought, " what if" about a career as an MC on the side. Mr. Price graduated from Duquesne University of PA with Bachelor of Art in Criminology. After a semi-successful year dominating the courts in Spain, and saving a lot of money, Kevin decided that it was time to cut this career short. "I was successful in Spain, but I couldn’t enjoy it because I was socially inactive & unmotivated because of the foreign overtone of everything."(Kevin Price) So in late 1998 he then decided to come back to the U.S. and make some major investments. He first got into the real estate business, which worked out extremely well and gave him time to become a committed student of the hip-hop industry.

After careful study, Kevin Price founded & incorporated Pittsburgh’s most powerful Independent Hip-Hop and R&B Record label, Iced Out Records, and began to recruit and sign artist from around the country. As the CEO, Kevin decided to open the door to other partners. At this point, the company was able to make major expansions quickly which included financing there own studio and pre-production house to create there music and to sale studio time and production with the help of Pittsburgh’s most sought after producer/artist, Antonio Cotton a.k.a. "Mistayuk." "Yuk", who possesses over 25 years of experience, plays more than half a dozen instruments well. The production company also incorporated the talents of the well developed, unique styles of artist/producer, Aaron Holloway, a.k.a. "Gritty." The label then went on to continue to develop there company by starting an advertising department with the help of the award winning graphic designer & hip-hop promoter, Christopher Hoye of D.P.I. Enterprises, who had promoted, designed, directed design work for more than ten years. Chris Hoye’s efforts where further recognized when company officers were elected and he was made Vice President.

As the label prepared to release their first CD, Chris Hoye decided to encourage the label to welcome an assistant to the VP since he was also responsible for all marketing, promotion, & graphic design. Long time friend, & successful entrepreneur, Idris Shabazz had been hand picked because of his both eager and aggressive business savvy. Mr. Shabazz quickly became Christopher Hoye’s understudy and eventually became the label’s General Manager. In the year 2000, Iced Out Records introduced the hip-hop world to The War Team, which was not a group, but a group of Hip-Hop soloist who often recorded & performed together. The War Team consisted of 6 aggressive & well-developed signed artists with east coast, west coast & southern influences. These artist appeared on the debut album of the label from "The War Team" titled "The Money Mission." The signed artists had opened for many National artists. Some of these artists included, Ludacris, Busta’ Rhymes, Method Man, Redman, Rah Digga, Cocoa Brovas, Das EFX, Doug E. Fresh, Run DMC, ONYX, EPMD, Drag-On, The L.O.X. and more. The War Team had recorded more than an impressive 70 songs in preparation for the release of this album and went on to have over 250 songs recorded. Iced Out Records had purchased over 100,000 full color posters & flyers from size 4 X 5 up to size 24 X 36 to promote this album. The label had also shot a $12,000, 1-minute, commercial that aired in several regions on BET & MTV. Iced Out Records purchased 2,000 snippet CDs, 1,000 snippet cassettes, 5,000 copies of the Full CD, & 500 pieces of vinyl (this included 4 songs from the LP), 500 bandannas, & 2000 men & women’s T-shirts to be distributed initially in Pittsburgh, The Carolinas, Ohio, & Virginia. The label also placed full page, full color ads, in the Source & XXL Magazines. Iced Out Records also negotiated with the agents of several National acts/artist for shows in which they planed to open for the artist, finance, and promote the shows. The label sponsored a show and opened up for Ludacris in Pittsburgh, PA. Other scheduled National artists included Nelly, Lil Kim, Trick Daddy, Trina, Black Rob, Beanie Seigal, Rah Digga, Noreaga, Mobb Deep, Three 6 Mafia, Camp Posse, Project Pat and more. Iced Out Records also did credit card sales on the Internet through their website (www.icedoutrecords.com) where samples of songs from "The Money Mission" where eventually heard by over half a million visitors.

In the Year 2001, Iced Out Records was taking the world by storm not only through performance, but also by taking the radio airwaves as well. Both singles, "You Ain’t Got No Paper" & "UH HUH" were rotated on radio stations in Pittsburgh, The Carolinas, Ohio, & Virginia. Iced Out Records had secured world distribution with Southwest Wholesale. The label patiently and carefully prepared to secure a P & D, or Joint Venture deal with a major label. This small Indie Label sold over 500 units locally within the first two weeks of the debut album release and sold 1,000 units to Southwest Wholesale by the third week of the release. "Money Mission" was sold in over 60 stores from Pittsburgh to Virginia Beach, VA. The project gained the attention of several Entertainment Lawyers & Major Labels. Iced Out Records debut release sold over 3,000 CD’s in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania alone, where many major labels have trouble selling over 500 units on multi-platinum selling. Shortly after

Shortly after the first release, CEO, Kevin Price relocated to Virginia Beach, Virginia along with other staff members. Kevin continued full operation of the successful Pittsburgh based independent record label as normal spending most of his time in Pittsburgh. After the first release, it was realized that Pittsburgh was not even considered a possible market by the Hip-Hop industry and relocating the label to a new market was something the label knew was quite necessary. At the same time, Kevin Price, Chris Hoye, & Idris Shabazz aggressively took on the full responsibility of carrying out all of the necessary activities of affectively running the label. Eventually, the other partners contributions of any sort were non-existent. They decided to invest in other business ventures in their new hometown of Atlanta as they prepared to severe all ties with the label. After several disagreements including discussions of label buy out options, the principal partners of Iced Out Records met as a functioning independent record label in their accountant’s offices in Pittsburgh in September of 2001 for the last time to dissolve the label. Before the label’s dissolve, and after careful observation of the public’s opinion, it was decided that the public wanted to hear more from, Kevin Price, a.k.a. "The Theory." The label’s original plan was to release "The Theory’s" solo debut, "From Welfare To Riches" (as seen in "The Money Mission" CD insert). This decision was made final after the label’s observations were when it was time to begin the complete activities necessary to develop the said project, Kevin Price took on the full financial responsibility of the project. Kevin made this decision knowing that the other partners were considering going separate ways before it’s release. The project was recorded at Mastersound Studios in Virginia Beach, Virginia where many major label artist & producers such as; Missy Elliot, Timbaland, The Neptunes, Mystikal, Ray-J, L.L. Cool J., & even Jay-Z have recorded multi-platinum singles and album. The project was mastered at Sterling Sound in New York by Chris Gehringer & Chris Athens. Both Gehringer & Athens have mastered projects for all of the major artist & producers listed above.

Directly following the dissolution meeting in September of 2001, Kevin Price, Chris Hoye, & Idris Shabazz decided to create a new label who’s final name became Crazy Baby Records. At that time, these three men handled all of the basic business activity necessary in legally & professionally developing a new independent record label. This was not an extremely involved process since they planned for such a move months before. A few important steps in the early development Iced Out Records that were missed were surely learned from and handled when preparing the hip-hop world for Crazy Baby Records Incorporated. All the necessary company transfers and dicontinuances where completed with a new album, new label, and a new look that left the bling, & ice of the old label that made many pre-judge the label as a Cash Money Records, No Limit Records, dirty south type label way in it’s past.

Iced Out Records fans & competition of Pittsburgh, PA sat in front of TV screens watching the new Crazy Baby Records commercial that promoted their first release, "From Welfare To Riches" by "The Theory," and at the same time, showed them the transformation of Iced Out Records to Crazy Baby Records. "The transition was simple because our style of promotion stands way out in every move we make in Pittsburgh from our dynamic full color two by three foot posters, to our flashy, video like commercials that the city knows & expects us to deliver."(Idris Shabazz, Vice President of Crazy Baby Records, Inc.) The album was marketed only in Pittsburgh with just street team distribution of 500 of their large, full color, poster boards and their 1 minute commercial which ran daily for two month’s prior to it’s November 13, 2001 release. "At first, I really didn’t wanna’ do a release in Pittsburgh because of the fact that I now know that our town is not considered a hip-hop market. But when you got a fan base like ours, you can turn ya’ back on ‘em, you gotta’ deliver the goods and satisfy their needs. It’s only right." (Kevin Price, CEO of Crazy Baby Records, Inc.) And after proving their ability to move units to the store owners with their first release as Iced Out Records, the store owners contacted the label immediately after the first week of commercial runs. Several store owners, including the regions dominant chain store (National Record Mart) put in their orders of the new release with all intentions of making direct purchases instead of the common consignment agreement that they so often force indie labels to arrange with them in order to carry their product. Crazy Baby Records Incorporated decided to do this early distribution of their product themselves. Their small, but wise, amount of promotion lead to their securing top shelf placement of the new product in over 180 stores from Pittsburgh to Virginia Beach, VA which resulted in over 5,000 CD sales to date. "We had no intention on moving that many CDs in Pittsburgh even though people constantly asked us when The Theory’s new album was droppin’ after they saw it promoted in the insert of the first release. We felt that the release in our city was a must for our following that happened to become a profitable blessing." (Chris Hoye, President of Crazy Baby Records, Inc.) The hometown release in November of 2002 was nothing more than a mere pre-cursor for the aggressive 10 market attack that Crazy Baby Records Incorporated was secretly preparing to launch. The complete marketing strategies, from the release of the hit single, "Pussycat," & the follow-up single, "Wind It Up" on vinyl to the necessary record pools & mixshow DJs for market testing and development - several mini tours before & after the full length CD release have been carefully constructed. The mini tours will include different major recording artist to increase ticket, CD, & merchandise sales. In March of 2002, Crazy Baby Records began the first phase of their 10 market marketing strategies by delivering over 15,000 pieces of vinyl featuring the first single, "Pussycat" to record pools & mixshow DJs across the US. This strategy was adopted from the major labels to assist Crazy Baby Records in finding the best 10 related markets to release "The Theory’s" debut solo LP. The label is also making their office rounds via e-mails on the computer screens & fax machines of various Record Pool Directors, Radio Program Directors, Mixshow DJs, & Major Record Label A&R’s to create a "necessary" industry "buzz". This buzz will assist Crazy Baby Records in their efforts to be heard, recognized, appreciated, & eventually rewarded in the hip-hop music industry as an elite upcoming independent label. The label has already purchased over 3,000 bandannas, and over 5,000 men & women’s long & short sleeve T-shirts, which have been given away at concerts, through radio contests, and by the street teams in numerous locations. Since "The Theory’s" release in Pittsburgh, he has opened up for "Ludacris, P-Diddy & the Bad Boy Family, Bubba Sparxx, LiL' Mo, Faith Evans, Mr. Cheeks, Styles P.,Jadakiss, Fabolous, Ms. Jade, Timbaland, & Missy Elliot." In April of 2002, selected program directors, mix-show, & club DJ's received full packages which included a sample of almost all of their promotional materials that will be being used to promote "The Theory’s" solo debut single, "Pussycat" from the debut album "From Welfare To Riches." Materials included a T-shirt, a full color, 2-sided flyer, the "Pussycat" 12 inch, an 8 Song Snippet CD, Full Length CD, Company History, & an 8X10 Black & White Glossy of "The Theory."

In October of 2002 Crazy Baby Records Incorporated officially opened their Norfolk, VA office among other businesses which include Crazy Com Communications, Tidal Wave Music, Sountech Studios, & D.P.I. Enterprises to empower all signed artist and corporate officers. In January of 2003 Crazy Baby Records release an exclusive vinyl & CD Remix of "Wind It Up" which features Petey Pablo & Mistayuk to all program directors, mix-show, & club DJ's across the country. This release is for promotional use only and will be used to continue to test the 15 targeted markets. After careful observation, Crazy Baby Records decided to do a 10 market release of the revisited album "From Welfare to Riches" on August 26, 2003 with the addition of 7 new songs including features from national recording artists, Petey Pablo, Sticky Fingers, Ravon, & Sedeck of BCU Refugee Camp. Before this release Crazy Baby Records will release 10,000 copies of a 22 track Mixtape that will feature all the signed artist of the label.

Just before the Pittsburgh release, Crazy Baby Records signed a young talented rappers named "Hound," & "Cadafo Da' Movie, both of Pittsburgh, PA who opened the gates to bringing in & developing young advanced talent. The newest signed artist "Tef Sunset," whose style & finesse parallels that of Hound & Cadafo joined them from the mean streets of Philadelphia, PA. Shortly after that release, Crazy Baby Records secured new legal representation from Attorney at Law, Martin E. Silfen, P.C., as well as new accounting representation from Michael Mitnick, & Michael Tasch of Berdon LLP, CPAs & Advisors all in preparation to address the everyday legal & accounting needs of an elite, aggressive Independent Record Label which also houses an irreplaceably, unmistakable Production Company, & a Cre8ively, Innovative Graphic Design Company. Negotiating a P & D or Joint Venture deal between Crazy Baby Records and a major record label will be supervised by both of these music industry super powers.
